Aresti Winery is owned byACW, one of the most prestigious family-run wine operations in Chile. Nowadays ACW produces and sells various brands around the world.

The foundations of Viña ARESTI are the passion for excellence of its founder, Vicente Aresti Astica.

After he passed, at 92, his daughters Begoña and Ana María Aresti López took over their father’s endeavor and persevered in commitment they had learnt from him.

In 1951, Vicente Aresti Astica acquired the Bellavista Estate in Curicó, a renowned winegrowing valley, and started building a family tradition of excellence in winemaking with passion at the core of their philosophy.

Over half a century of meticulous work resulted in a tradition of high quality wines that were the labels of choice of the most prestigious wineries at that time.

The experience gained in making superior wines fueled Mr. Aresti’s motivation to start bottling and selling labels of their own.

In 1999 and following major winery renovations and introduction of state-of-the-art technology, Viña ARESTI took the great leap forward into producing and exporting bottled wine.

· Jon Usabiaga, Chief Winemaker – Operations Manager

Jon’s commitment to constantly improve the quality of the wines he crafts has allowed Aresti to grow into a leading producer of superior wines.

· Marcelo Lorca – Agricultural Manager

Agricultural Engineer and Viticulturist from Universidad Iberoamericana de Ciencias y Tecnología with vast experience in R&D of winegrowing projects.

For 8 years, he led sustainability-oriented traditional and organic vineyard management projects for the San Pedro Tarapacá Group. He was also responsible for super premium projects and for crafting wines for specific world markets.

Marcelo joined Viña Aresti in late 2013 and successfully linked the winemaking and production departments and contributed his technical and administration expertise, along with his passion to grape growing and the production of wines with an identity of their own.

Viña Aresti, a company of the ACW, one of Chile’s most prestigious family winegrowing businesses, is located in Molina, in the Curicó valley, less than 200 km south of Santiago. New vineyards near the Claro river – Micaela, Peñaflor, and La Reserva – have been added to Bellavista, the original estate.

The vineyards are situated in Curicó, Chile’s largest and most famous wine valley. With privileged climate, alluvial soil, a long dry season and a daytime/nighttime temperature differential of some 20ºC, this region offers the ideal conditions for the production of superior wines.

VINEYARDS

· Bellavista: Its slightly deep soil with little rock content provides excellent conditions for varieties like Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer.

· Micaela: Deep clay-loam soil with a rocky profile below one meter of depth, ideal for red varieties.

· Peñaflor: Deep clay-loam, slightly acidic soil with gentle slopes mostly used to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Carménère, and Pinot Noir and Merlot to a lesser extent.

· La Reserva: Variable (from clay-loam to sandy) soil, with medium-low fertility, rolling hills and different sun exposure, perfect for the production of a wide range of grape varieties.

Optimum grape quality is an essential requirement for the production of superior wines.

To attain the level of quality we seek, we have focused our processes on:

· Sectorization of the vineyards using precision viticulture.

· Intensive canopy management to enhance bunch microclimate.

· Lower yields to boost fruit intensity.

· FDR technology to monitor soil moisture and determine irrigation strategies.

· Differentiated Harvest by Block: Use of infrared image sensors to determine optimum harvest time for each lot.

Mejorar la cadena de valor del vino para hacerla ambientalmente amigable, socialmente equitativa y económicamente viable.

Aresti was certified under Wines of Chile’s strict Sustainability Code standard after all its processes met the indicators for the various areas measured by the code: agriculture, winery-cellars, and CSR-Community.
In addition, Aresti has signed the Clean Production Agreement, a regulation for the production of environmentally friendly wines through safe, environmentally sound, and sustainable production processes.
